Ingredients

  • 1 pound kielbasa sausage sliced ½-inch thick
  • ½ head cabbage thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion thinly sliced
  • 1 24-count package frozen pierogies, any flavor
  • 3 teaspoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons whole grain mustard
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup oil
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Fresh parsley
  • Fresh dill
  • Sour cream for serving
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Arrange sliced kielbasa sausage, cabbage, onion, and frozen pierogies evenly on a sheet pan.
  3. Season the ingredients with salt and black pepper as desired.
  4. Roast until the pierogies become golden and crisp and the cabbage and onions are tender, about 40 minutes.
  5. While the sheet pan dinner cooks, prepare the vinaigrette by whisking together honey, Cajun seasoning, whole grain mustard, red wine vinegar, oil, and paprika until combined.
  6. Remove the sheet pan from the oven and drizzle the vinaigrette over the roasted ingredients.
  7. Toss gently to coat everything with the dressing.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and dill.
  9. Serve warm with sour cream on the side.

Notes

  • Frozen pierogies can be cooked directly on the sheet pan without thawing first.
  • The roasting process gives the pierogies a golden exterior while softening the cabbage and onion.
  • The mustard vinaigrette adds a sweet, tangy flavor that balances the richness of the sausage and pierogi.
  • Fresh dill, parsley, and sour cream provide a traditional finishing touch.
  • Arrange ingredients in a single layer when possible to encourage better browning.
