Notes

Cream Cheese: Full-fat cream cheese is recommended for the best flavor. Reduced-fat or dairy-free cream cheese can also be used.
Light Brown Sugar: Dark brown sugar also works well.
Honey: Maple syrup is a great substitute.
Candied Nuts: Plain or candied nuts can be used, including candied pecans or candied walnuts.
Serving: Serve at room temperature or chilled with fresh apple slices. Honeycrisp, Fuji and Pink Lady apples are recommended.
Other Dipping Options: Serve with pretzels, graham crackers, strawberries or grapes.
Prevent Apple Browning: Soak sliced apples in 2 cups of water and 2 Tablespoons lemon juice before serving.
Softening Cream Cheese: Remove the cream cheese from the foil and microwave for 10 seconds, flip and repeat for another 10 seconds. Alternatively, place the sealed foil package in warm water until softened.
Make Ahead: Prepare the dip one or two days ahead and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Refrigerator Storage: Store leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freezer Storage: Freeze in an airtight container for up to one month.
